Very nice 5 day cruise

Sail Date: June 2017
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: New Orleans
This cruise fit into our schedule. My friend and I decided to cruise. I've cruised on Carnival and Norwegian in the past. Balcony cabin.

The ship does show some age in some areas; rust in public restrooms, etc. Other areas looked very nice and updated. The cabin looks dated but all this is not important to me. I brought my own blow dryer, since I read that the one provided was strange. My roommate said the bathroom one got hot in her hand.

There always seemed to be sufficient loungers on the deck!

The food at the buffet was good. Didn't try the Chinese food. The Deli sandwich-pastrami-YUM! Guy's Burgers - YUM! Blue Iguana Mexican food: YUM! Main Dining Room - all dinners were very good. One night I had the Indian Vegetarian Choice - Excellent!!! Dress up night, had the steak, and some potatoes that seemed like they had a tempura type batter - Excellent!!! Of course the chocolate melting cake was always perfect!

Entertainment in the Rome Lounge was More good.

It seems that the things that are geared to us 'older' active people were so late, like 10:30 to go dancing in the Hollywood Lounge. A long space of time to wait for that activity. If you have an excursion the next day, makes it hard to want to stay up that late.

My biggest complaint was THE SMOKE from the casino! It would infiltrate not only that floor but other floors via the atrium. Carnival really needs to address this.

The cleanliness of our cabin wasn't quite up to par. Mildew in the shower, old personal bar of soap from last guest. Our steward addressed these things as best as he could. He was very friendly. I think they do the best they can.

One other thing. The "Burlesque Show". The comedian was there hosting it or whatever, telling gross, not funny jokes. Not classy. I feel so sorry for those girls. They were made to hold baskets outside the exits to collect dollars for kisses. Really embarrassing for them and for everyone.

Overall we had a good time. Less

Cabin review: 8E9287 Balcony

Some nights heard some scrapings and rattlings from - outside? Above? Was it deck chairs? Wind on the dividers? Not a big deal, didn't keep me awake. Overall cabin comfortable and plenty of space and storage!

Great! Extremely well organized! Unlimited lime and strawberry margaritas. Six different salsas and guacamole. Delicious, educational! Fun!!! Air conditioned.

20 minute bus to ruins. Change into your bathing suit/coverup. Lots of walking to the ruins, rocks, uneven ground. Great tour. Cooled off in the cenote. 15 minute bus ride to lunch and singing and dancing entertainment. Beautiful grounds, clean. Lots of flies. : ( Bring some cash - there are vendors there selling stuff. I was afraid of ice in drinks but I didn't get sick. Unlimited margaritas. Walked over to the rodeo. Roping, dancing, etc. Very very nice! They work very hard to entertain and serve you!
