First cruise... will not be our last

Sail Date: June 2017
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: Bayonne (Cape Liberty)
Coming from LI, Cape Liberty was a convenient departure port, without the hassle of having to go into Manhattan. Nice to be able to offload our baggage before parking the car in the very convenient (and reasonably priced) garage. Having done online check-in made getting on board quick and painless, and we were quickly to our cabins. Our luggage arrived by the time we came back from a quick lunch in the Windjammer, and we met out cabin steward, who kept our cabins very well maintained.

The ship is HUGE, with a great variety of shops and restaurants and entertainment options, everything from pizza and ping-pong to filet mignon and the amazing Rip Cord skydiving simulator. Huge variety in the Windjammer buffet, and the food in the main dining room is excellent with a mix of standards and rotating specials. We also opted to go the extra for dinner at Chops Grille one night, and it was well worth the additional cost. Stopping in at Michael's Pub was like going to your favorite More local bar.

Snorkel Beach was a bit crowded. but certainly no worse than any Long Island beach in the summer. We had reserved chairs and umbrellas, which were setup for us very quickly, and had use of snorkel gear and a choice of kayaks and paddleboards. Water right off the shore was cloudier than one would expect, but cleared quickly once you got away from the stir from all the swimmers.

All in all, a fabulous vacation for our very first cruise, and definitely looking forward to our next one on Royal Caribbean. Less

Cabin review: D88586 Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Our cabins (we also had 8588 & 8590) were spacious, clean, and well appointed with plenty of storage. Beds weren't the most comfortable I've ever slept in, but are also FAR from the most uncomfortable as well - brilliant move, though, having enough under bed height to store even large suitcases. Well lit and with plenty of outlets, the phone-charging ports were a nice plus. We loved being able to have the balcony separators opened between our 3 cabins. Bathrooms weren't quite as small as we expected, very clean and had none of the smell I've read is often a problem on board ships. Showers would be tight for very large people, would have to imagine anyone over about 300 lbs would need an "accessible" cabin
