WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE DISNEY WAY?

Sail Date: June 2017
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Port Canaveral (Orlando)
We chose Disney because in the past it has beat out all the competitors by a long shot. The price of Disney is double to sometimes 4x the price of other ships. The price is no longer worth it. The ship had paint peeling on the balconies, stickers peeling off decorations on the tables, the adjoining door warped, the chairs in the small theater broken, and just many maintenance issues left unattended to. It took one hour from the gate to check in. It took 1&1/2 hrs. to get off in the most confused exit we have ever seen in our 20 plus cruises.

We found very little to do when on the ship and when we did go to the classes they had no supplies. We went to the class that was to make memory pages but the person in charge was given very few scissors, stickers, pages etc. to work with. After a few minutes, we gave up and left.

There was no party for returning guests that every other cruise line has.

The dining food has not been changed in a long time and return More guests tell me they are sick of the same thing over and over. There was no lobster night. This surprised us since the other lines that are much less expensive still have it.

I wondered how all this could have happened to the Disney way and then I realized that most of the people on the ship we encountered were Disney interval owners and were on the ship for a discounted rate. Most had never even tried another brand.

Maybe because of the discounted rate Disney now is giving a discounted cruise and since the clientele doesn't compare they don't realize what other lines are now doing.

The final straw was when we rented bikes on the private beach. There was nothing there for my daughter to ride. They have no 3 wheels for people with poor balance. The beach staff told us to go to customer service on the ship and they would do something for her. We did and they basically didn't care. The old Disney go beyond expectations has been replaced with do whatever is cheapest.

We will not be going on a Disney cruise again. It is sad to see such a wonderful experience in the past turned to just another mediocre cruise experience. Less
