Large Cruise Ship

Sail Date: May 2017
Destination: Norwegian Fjords
Embarkation: Southampton
We did this cruise as we wanted to do the Norwegian Fjords, & booked a Superior Deluxe Balcony Cabin ( C324 ) on 12 Deck. Our cabin was very comfortable, & we didn't have any problems with it.

The embarkation was the best we have ever experienced ( our 17th cruise ) & took less than 30 minutes to board from arriving at the cruise terminal. On arrival at our cabin our luggage was already in it! Well done everybody at Southampton.

The ship seemed to vibrate a lot, especially on Deck 5, 6 & 7,at the Atrium, as well as the buffet on Deck 16 ( It was so bad that if you ordered a glass of milk, by the time it arrived it was a milk shake!)

The service on board depended where you went, at times in the Crows Nest I had to go to the bar & ask for a waiter, & it happened on a number of occasions.

The Theater was very small for the ship's size ( over 4000 passengers ) & you had to get in early to hope to get a decent seat. The More productions were good, although one suited the Very Young ( Fairy Tales Theme ) & as the average age on board was Very Old, not really suitable.

The food on board was very good, & HOT, which was a welcome experience

We had the option of an early debarkation if you were prepared to take all your luggage with you, which we did, at car park by 07.20, & home in Leamington by 09.15, which was 45 minutes earlier than our expected debarkation time, & then the problem of finding your luggage.

We did not "Dress Up" on the 2 nights it occurred, & did not feel uncomfortable in any of the bars or theater.

The cruise was brilliant, but why go to Bergen on a cruise of the Fjords. One good tip, on a large ship, pre book your shore excursions, as there was hardly any excursions available when we tried to book on board, ( all the popular ones sold out before hand )as there are FAR TO MANY PASSENGERS than SHORE EXCURSION places available on a large ship ( 1st time this has ever happened to us )

Would we ever go on Britannia again, Yes, if it had an itinerary that we could not get on a smaller ship, but would go for a smaller ship if at all possible. Less
